For over 25 years, Barbara Friesner has been a care manager – first for her grandmother and now for her mother who has advanced dementia. As a result of this personal experience, it is Barbara’s mission is to help families who are also struggling with eldercare issues. In 2001 Barbara started her company, AgeWiseLiving, and is now the country’s leading Generational Coach and expert on issues affecting Seniors and their families. As a Generational Coach, Barbara has helped hundreds of clients – both the adult children who are trying to help their aging parents and professionals with senior clients – come up with practical solutions to elder-care issues. More importantly, she coaches her clients on how to communicate effectively so their aging loved ones will actually do what is in their best interest so their eldercare issues are resolved by choice, not crisis. And, since sibling issues often surface when discussing Mom & Dad, Barbara also helps families resolve their sibling issues so they can successfully address their eldercare issues and preserve the family relationship.
Barbara is the author of The Ultimate Caregiver’s Success Guide and has released a widely acclaimed CD called Is It Simple Forgetfulness or the Real Thing which helps families identify, understand, accept, and cope with loved ones with dementia.
