Joy Koerte and Jenny Fujita are partners in a full-service PR firm, Fujita & Miura Public Relations (FMPR), on Kauai, Hawaii. In 2006, Joy and Jenny were awarded the U .S. Small Business Administration Home-Based Business Champion of the Year for Region IX. Their popular PR column, “Your Public Is Waiting,” is regularly featured in a variety of publications as well as their blog.
FMPR’s specialty is assisting national and international businesses to successfully enter the Kauai market, which has very unique cultural traditions, customs and processes. Through this work, they realized that Hawaii has a lot to share with the world about happy, healthy living.
Joy, 31, is a fifth-generation Kauai resident, and Jenny, 41, is originally from Pennsylvania and has been living on Kauai for 15 years. They bring together the perspectives of a lifelong Hawaii resident and a once-newcomer to the islands to highlight the unique aspects and benefits of Hawaii living. Longtime friends, Joy and Jenny are both moms, wives, aunties, and foodies and enjoy cooking, gardening, traveling, fashion, and spending time with friends and family. They bring a fun and funny element to their radio show as they relate their personal experiences of life in Hawaii.
What makes Hawaii an exceptional destination is its inimitable, hard-to-define aloha spirit.
