Lisa Nehmer’s 10 year old son David was diagnosed with AML leukemia in 1996. Her life was never the same. David’s protocol required 3 rounds of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful 14 year old daughter Rachel who was his match. David fought hard for two years until he passed away on August 6, 1998 from a lung infection. In David’s memory Lisa started the Healing Heart Foundation. The foundation mission is to help chronically/terminally ill children deal with their pain and to improve palliative care for chronically and terminally ill children. Li
