Professor Mutombo Nkulu N’Sengha returns to the US from spending a year’s sabbatical in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and shares his experiences in Kamina, a town in the Katanga region where he established the Bumuntu Peace Institute. The people of the Congo have been long suffering in a history fraught with colonialism, dictatorships, exploitation, and prolonged wars. Some of the world’s poorest people live in a country with the world’s richest and greatest reservoirs of natural resources: gold, diamonds, copper, coltan, and various rare earth metals.
