Although he still could not understand how God could let the Holocaust happen, he had finally made peace with God and by so doing was able to heal at a deeper level. All who have suffered through trauma must find their unique answers. Dr. Chris Courtois, a highly respected voice in the psychoanalytic community, was the first therapist who I heard talk about the need for spirituality in healing trauma.
