Episode Description
This is the debut episode of RIGHT CHOICES. My professional journey has been in the making for nearly 20 years, coaching and training men, women, and youth. As the host of this show, I want to guide you beyond emotional and physical barriers. The awareness we gain from our limitations to exercise does not have to be so taxing that it paralyzes us from action. Knowing how to get started and staying motivated is essential, and combined with sound training principles, we can improve our ability to engage in activities that are meaningful to us while extending our time to enjoy life. Our journey together begins with knowing what, why, and how you want to accomplish your goals.

Right Choices, the radio show, is geared towards people that want to connect with all aspects of health and fitness, through exercises, sports, hobbies, and lifestyles. Our population has seen a lifestyle change that has led this nation to being number one in obesity with a 30.6 percent rate compared to other industrialized nations. The issues discussed on Right Choices, will cover effective means to physical lifestyle changes that will not consume a great amount of your time, money, or travel.
The effectiveness of the show is premised on the hopes that access to having a healthier, more fit lifestyle is more than doable, it's literally at the tip of your fingers! It only takes small incremental changes that lead to a broad change in motivation, adherence, and minimal risks to injuries. We support you on your wellness journey.
Detrick Wright
For nearly two decades I have been involved in sports and fitness coaching, training men, women and children. It is my passion, and desire to live a well-balanced life gained through my personal experiences, as well as the educational steps I took to further my knowledge. The tools I have gained have allowed me the success I have achieved as a personal trainer, and a youth coach. Now, I seek to expand upon that knowledge and give back to society on a broader scale. Understanding the connections from engagement in a physical lifestyle drives the desire to continue participation regardless of how old we are.
I hold a Master of Arts in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Management as well as a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Biology. My background and certifications include Functional Movement Screen (FMS), International Youth Coach Association (IYCA), experience as a USAA Weight lifting Club Coach, a personal trainer with the American Council on Exercise, an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and a United States Air Force Veteran.
