Episode Description

Last week was the debut episode of RIGHT CHOICES. Where we discussed the understanding of knowing what, why, and how we want to physically move to successfully achieve goals through awareness of our motivation, and dedication of time in our lives. This week the goal is to gain a deeper understanding of what inactivity does to our bodies, the environment created in our homes, culture, and to our nation. If you had the opportunity to minimize the risks of harm or danger from impacting yourself, your family, or a friend would you? Join me and stand against the epidemic that's impacting our lives. INACTIVITY, better known as sedentary lifestyles and the risks factors associated with it.

Detrick Wright

For nearly two decades I have been involved in sports and fitness coaching, training men, women and children. It is my passion, and desire to live a well-balanced life gained through my personal experiences, as well as the educational steps I took to further my knowledge. The tools I have gained have allowed me the success I have achieved as a personal trainer, and a youth coach. Now, I seek to expand upon that knowledge and give back to society on a broader scale. Understanding the connections from engagement in a physical lifestyle drives the desire to continue participation regardless of how old we are.

I hold a Master of Arts in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Management as well as a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Biology. My background and certifications include Functional Movement Screen (FMS), International Youth Coach Association (IYCA), experience as a USAA Weight lifting Club Coach, a personal trainer with the American Council on Exercise, an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and a United States Air Force Veteran.
