Empowering Patients to Make Decisions with Confidence
March 7, 2018
Hosted by Sharon Henifin, CN-BA and Becky Olson, CN-BA
Effective communication between health care providers and patients is vital. It establishes trust and gives patients insight into owning their disease. With understanding of their disease comes the ability for patients to actively make decisions about their care with confidence. Members of the Dr. Joe team will discuss barriers to communication and provide tools to overcome these challenges. Additionally, they will talk about their approach to patient education and the power of simplifying medical terminology with analogies.
Breast Friends Cancer Support Radio
Wednesday at 9 AM Pacific Time on VoiceAmerica Health and Wellness Channel
Breast Friends helps women and families deal with the emotional upheaval of cancer. Our show offers advice and provides hope to the patients and survivors, while teaching their friends and family how to provide significant and helpful support to their loved ones.
Our show benefits the patients, as well as their friends and family members in several ways: Patients benefit because they find hope and inspiration in hearing stories of survival not only from the co-hosts, but also from our guests. Their friends and family members benefit by learning ways to support their loved ones and understand her journey a bit better. Each week we will introduce a different topic and provide resources that are sure to create interest and provide additional support to the patients and their families.
