Why are we so sick as a society? I might be asking this of the United States, but my recent travels to Asia and other Western Hemisphere countries have shown me that other countries are under attack, too. But what is it that is causing all this illness? The human immune system has been robust and powerful enough to carry us through dozens of millennia of plague, war, ice age, tectonic shift, Earth changes, mass extinctions. Why is it failing worldwide on such a grand scale, just now? It is about the unfortunate dark side of untrammeled capitalism. In short, this philosophy supports the worship of wealth accumulation above ALL ELSE. All else, in this case, is human health, infant development, schools, infrastructure, a living wage for all, even, to be blunt, survival of the species! Our much touted "health care" system, constantly praised by the commercialized practitioners as the "best in the world", actually produces results closer to those of third world countries.

Howard Straus
Mr. Howard Straus, son of Charlotte Gerson and grandson of Dr. Max Gerson, graduated from MIT with a degree in physics. He was a US naval officer during the Viet Nam war and worked for many years as a computer systems analyst. Howard was Editor-in-Chief of the Gerson Healing Newsletter for ten years and authored an award-winning biography of Dr. Gerson called Dr. Max Gerson: Healing the Hopeless, published in 2002.
Howard was the founding Director of the Gerson Healing Center in Sedona, Arizona, that provided the Gerson Therapy directly to visitors from all over the world. Howard also served on the Board of the Gerson Institute for fifteen years and initiated their Worldwide Web presence during the earliest days of the Internet.
Mr. Straus founded Gerson Health Media that publishes the guidebooks for implementing Gerson Therapy and manages the rapidly expanding library of books and booklets being released around the world. Howard appears on radio, television and Internet interviews, and regularly speaks throughout the world.
