The Impact of Healthcare Providers on Patients and Clients
December 17, 2018
Hosted by Leanne Meier, BSN, RN
Ray Befus & I met on LinkedIn when he shared a post from Dee McCarthy: "I love you. No…I might not know you. But if folks can hate for no good reason, I can love." It started a conversation on the impact of providers on patients health and outcomes. Ray said: "When caretakers (doctors & nurses) are stressed, patients suffer." We work in an environment made stressful by the fact that lives hang in the balance based on the quality of our work. Isn't it normal to blow off steam by yelling at a coworker? Pointing out loudly the incompetence of others--for their own benefit--helps them. RIGHT? I have had several guests on the show this year discussing Burnout & Bullying. This show takes it a step further. What does the dysfunctional operation of healthcare organizations do to the patients, unfortunate enough to be subjected to it? Join us Monday on VoiceAmerica.com at 12 N CT. Share your thoughts or ask questions of Ray by calling 866-472-5792 or emailing me at leannevoiceamerica.com
Once a Nurse, Always a Nurse
Monday at 10 AM Pacific Time on VoiceAmerica Health and Wellness Channel
There are SO many issues in healthcare that impact medical/nursing providers and patients alike, but each of them may not see the connections to themselves. This show will be a forum for nurses to tell stories about their own experiences, whether professional or family-focused and guests will inspire conversation on health and nursing-related topics. Issues will vary from communication in healthcare to current issues, such as nurse/patient ratios, dealing with conflict, how to create cooperative workplaces, speed-reading people, as nursing strikes and much more. Government policies are creating a major shift for all healthcare providers as well as their patients. We, as nurses, will be creating the future healthcare paradigms as we move forward, becoming a crucial part of the solutions. “Once a Nurse, Always a Nurse: Exploring the World of Nursing” is broadcast live every Monday at 10 AM Pacific Time on the VoiceAmerica’s Health and Wellness Channel.
