Episode Description

Unless you are very lucky, the New York City apartment or brownstone you’re buying will need work. Anywhere from a little bit—like refinishing the floors and painting the walls—to a top-to-bottom gut renovation. So while you finalize how much work you and your budget can (or should) do before you move in—and ensure it takes place as fast as possible to mitigate the expense of carrying two homes at the same time. New York City's current affordable housing crisis means there's keen interest in rent-stabilized apartments, and for good reason. Rent-stabilized apartments often allow people to live in neighborhoods they otherwise could not afford. The program also guarantees tenants certain protections that market-rate renters do not have, including relatively predictable and manageable rent increases, and an automatic lease renewal every year or two, meaning that except in rare circumstances, your landlord can't kick you out.

Vince Rocco

I became interested in a real estate career in the mid-1990s while buying and selling Manhattan co-ops and condos for my own personal real estate projects (renovating and selling), and found it to be an exciting industry. I decided to make Real Estate a full time profession and I've never looked back.

The ROCCO Group is dedicated to delivering quality service to our buyers and sellers. I get personally involved in every detail of the deal. I am known for my straightforward approach, my integrity and flexibility while working with people. I cultivate strong relationships that last a lifetime.

I have an extensive knowledge of Manhattan and its neighborhoods. I became an expert in New Condo Development sales over the past five years selling in three separate new development projects. I've made appearances on 'Sweat Equity' on the DIY network as one of their pricing experts, and have been featured on 'House Hunters' on HGTV and I'm working on an interactive web/blog portal where I will be hosting a weekly 'over the net' Real Estate program featuring everything New York City. I have been quoted in NY Magazine, NY Post, NY Times, QUEST, The Real Deal, and Broker's Weekly.

I live on the Upper West Side of Manhattan with my dog, Jett. I know Manhattan well and all of its neighborhood's so touring for a new home is always an exciting adventure with me. I make it personal. Your dream of finding the perfect home or selling your home will become a reality.
