Episode Description
Though they are hiding in the shadows, an alarming number of children are growing up in homes where they are abused and neglected by parents who put their own needs first-whether by addiction, abandonment, sex or narcissism. But, today's guests are proof that there is hope. Scott Glabb, author of A Saint in the City: Coaching At-Risk Kids to be Champions, used to be one of those kids. But, he pulled his life together to become a winning wrestling coach at an inner city school-and a savior for many kids whose life was heading in the wrong direction. Anthony Reveles is 19 years old, and is one of Coach Glabb's success stories. Anthony courageously shares what it was like growing up: abandoned by his biological dad, abused by his mom, stepdad and siblings, surrounded by drug and alcohol abuse, and finally homeless. He was headed for trouble until he joined Coach Glabb's wrestling team, took the coach's wisdom to heart, and now has a bright future ahead of him.
