In the first half hour Patricia interviews Dr. Jan Yager, author of How to Self-Publish Your Book, enabling authors to avoid common pitfalls along the way to becoming a self-published author. Dr. Yager will discuss initial manuscript preparation including setting your goals, writing, sequencing, editing, and proofing, creating a business plan for your book’s eventual release, the importance of cover and interior design, and what you need to know about producing physical books and e-books In the second half hour Patricia interviews Sabrina Strings, author of FEARING THE BLACK BODY: The Racial Origins of Fat Phobia. Professor Strings wrote a book to share with the public her thoroughly research exploration of the historical relationship between race and weight-related prejudices, examining many works. She will discuss with Patricia the historical examination of fatness, Black women and the stigma and fears surrounding fat Black women, and how that affects Black women today
