Ep. 1: The 2020 Election and Ep. 2: Racial Outsourcing
September 4, 2019
Hosted by Kathryn Zox
Kathryn interviews NY Times columnist and Founder of The American Prospect Robert Kuttner MA, author of “The Stakes: 2020 and the Survival of American Democracy.” The 2020 election is a key moment in the history of American democracy, and Kuttner makes the stand that the Trump administration has eroded many of the bulwarks of American style democracy. He is a former columnist for BusinessWeek, the Washington Post, the Boston Globe and current columnist for The NY Times international edition. Kathryn also interviews Professor of Sociology, Washington University in St. Louis Adia Harvey Wingfield PhD, author of “Flatlining: Race, Work, and Health Care in the New Economy.” She exposes how hospitals, clinics and other institutions participate in “racial outsourcing,” relying heavily on black doctors, nurses, technicians and physician assistants to do “equity work.” Wingfield has lectured internationally and is a contributing writer for The Atlantic, Slate and Harvard Business Review.
