Episode Description

There are new California sexual harassment training regulations. Do you conduct business in the state of California? If so, listen up! California businesses have a deadline of January 1, 2021, to instate new sexual harassment policies. The change to the policy includes a new requirement for sexual harassment training. California extends the compliance deadline for new harassment prevention training. As you may recall, effective January 1, 2019, SB 1343 mandated all employers with 5 or more employees to provide sexual harassment prevention training to all employees by January 1, 2020. Supervisors are to receive interactive 2-hour training and non-supervisors interactive 1-hour training. The training must take place within 6 months of hire or promotion and every 2 years thereafter. With many concerns from the employer throughout this year to comply with this mandate, Governor Gavin Newsom signed SB 778 to extend the sexual harassment prevention training deadline to January 1, 2021.
