Episode Description

Today's show honors the 58 people murdered in Las Vegas, one year ago, at the hands of a madman, the countless others who were injured, and all of their families. Over 22,000 people delighted in the Route 91 Harvest Country Music Festival on October 1, 2017, until a tirade of bullets rang out from a window in the Mandalay Bay Hotel, turning it into the worst mass shooting in American history. But, the show doesn't just look back at tragedy, it also looks forward to healing, because that fateful day brought together today's guests, both victims of gun violence, Lisa Fine and Iris Sherman. Lisa is a survivor of the Vegas shooting and Iris is a survivor of a street shooting in Washington, D.C. Lisa co-founded Route91Strong with Brian Claypool, who had been sitting in the same row at the Vegas concert. Iris is on the Board. Route91Strong is a charity that stands strong with survivors of gun violence to raise awareness, funds and to gather resources for all victims, survivors and families.
