The vast majority of hunting and shooting facilities are family owned businesses. Granted some are corporately owned, but most tend to be "mom and pop" operations. This week Marty visits with the Becker brothers, owners and operators of Etowah Valley Game Preserve and Etowah Valley Sporting Clays located in Georgia north of Atlanta. Alex and Phillip Becker have been entertaining upland bird hunters and clay target shooters for almost two decades at the two facilities that are on separate properties, but serve the same markets. Marty will get into all things upland bird hunting and clay shooting with the Beckers. They have found that the two markets are often much the same people, but with the resurgence of ladies and youth shooting, primarily in the clay target world, there are extended opportunities to introduce new hunters to great gamebird hunting. This will be a great show that focuses on both wingshootng and clay shooting - in a family sort of way.

Marty Fischer
Marty Fischer is one of America’s best-known outdoor celebrities. A graduate of Georgia Southern College, he has been an outdoor television host for almost three decades on shows like Suzuki Great Outdoors on ESPN, Shotgun Journal on the Outdoor Life Network, TNT Outdoor Explosion and “If It Flies…” on the Pursuit Channel. He is a well-known outdoor writer who has authored two books, The Gun Digest Book of Shotgunning and Limbhangers and 4-Letter Words, a book on turkey hunting. In addition to his books, he has written articles for many of the top outdoor magazines on the market. Marty is a NSCA Level III Certified Instructor who has been coaching wing and clay shooters for more than 35 years. He was recently called “the most famous left handed wingshooter in the world” by the popular Shotgun Life website. He is an avid upland bird, waterfowl and turkey hunter who has harvested more than 100,000 gamebirds in 11 countries on four continents around the world and in more than 35 U.S. states. Marty has been a finalist in the World Duck Calling Championship in Stuttgart, Arkansas on four occasions, including a Top 5 finish in that event. He is also a public speaker and President of SportShooting Consultants, Ltd., a gun club design and consulting company that he has owned and managed since 1992.
