Chinese investors have been riding the US commercial real estate (CRE) wave, the total investment in the US rising up rapidly from the ground in 2011, peaked at $16.2B in 2016 then dropped over 55% in 2017 after China's government announced efforts to restrict outbound investments in foreign real estate, according to Cushman & Wakefield. Ms. Hui Tian, architect and Founder of a Seattle company Studio 19 Architects, shares with us her observations of the changes in the CRE investment trend related to China investment, and her experience on how to work with Chinese real estate investors. She brings over 20 years US-China experience in industry and helps American organizations learn the China market and culture, enter and grow business in China, and vice versa. In addition, Michelle is a business and leadership coach specializing in helping leaders and professionals grow their business and achieve their career goals. She is also a management and marketing consultant and trainer for Microsoft, a board of director at Washington State China Relations Council, and an advisor for several startups. She is passionate about education and have been leading and volunteering in NGOs to make a difference in people’s life through education. She is a public speaker in the U.S. Speaker program and frequently speaks in China. In addition, she publishes a weekly podcast program and authors articles in Chinese introducing America to the Chinese audience.
Michelle has worked in Microsoft, HP, EMC, IDC and in Chinese companies and startups. She has an MBA and Master of Science in Finance degree, as well as a Professional Coaching certification.
