C. diff. Infection and COVID-19; What Is Known Today and More
June 30, 2020
Hosted by Nancy C. Caralla
Our two guests, Teena Chopra, MD, MPH and Glenn Tillitson, PhD,FIDSA, will be discussing how C. diff. infections correlate with COVID-19 and how the pandemic not only provides lessons about the judicious use of antibiotics, but it also highlights another global health threat that has been playing out in slow motion: the mounting threat of antimicrobial resistance that annually claims 700,000 lives as the world’s arsenal of antibiotics and antifungal medication lose their ability to vanquish dangerous pathogens. There will be discussions focused on studies, and what may be the epidemiological impact of COVID/CDI in post hospital care and much more.
