Episode 7: first responders and mental health
September 23, 2020
Hosted by Jan Christenson and Marnix Pauwels
This is episode 7 of A Magnificent Mind. Today Jan and Marnix have a very inspiring chat with Sam(antha) Dutton, Ph.D., LCSW, Associate Dean and Director of the Social Work Program at University of Phoenix, and also has military experience spanning 27 years. Today’s episode is a very encouraging conversation around mental health in the United States Air force (and in general), and how to create a safe environment for first responders so they can be open and vulnerable. Sam talks about dancing while cooking, the power of love, how her family responds to her mission in life, and how we can show others to follow their intuition by showing them the way. If you feel like you could use a chunk of pure inspiration, be sure to listen to this episode!
