Today’s guest, Dr. Mark Gold, is a pioneer in addiction research. Specializing in addiction-related diseases in the 1970s and long before it was considered a health factor by physicians and researchers, Dr. Gold has over 45 years of experience studying and destigmatizing addiction, from opioids and cocaine to food and other drugs. In this episode, Zach and Dr. Gold cover substance use disorders (SUDs), progress around the stigma of addiction, the epidemic of opioid overdoses, and the transition to post-pandemic life.

Zachary Crouch
Zachary Crouch is the National Business Development Manager and former administrator for Landmark Recovery, a Louisville based residential program for drug and alcohol treatment. His background in the treatment field as a counselor includes work with the adolescent, adult and family population. Additionally, he also operated the acute medical detoxification unit for Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville. Zachary graduated with a Bachelors in Psychology and earned his Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2009.
