June 28, 2021
Hosted by Bonnie D. Graham
Automotive Insiders is presented by OESA, the Original Equipment Suppliers Association. Industry experts keep the Automotive Supplier Community up to date on the fast-changing mobility landscape. From post-pandemic manufacturing, restart planning and worker safety measures, to legal issues and supply chain disruptions, Automotive Insiders is your source of timely, relevant content. Host Bonnie D. Graham welcomes attorney Kurt Kissling, a partner in Warner Norcross + Judd’s Detroit office, who counsels clients across the country on environmental issues, focusing on the Clean Air Act and its local equivalents. Kurt discusses upcoming new initiatives by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on Environmental Justice (EJ): climate change, stricter tailpipe standards, and enhanced corporate reporting requirements for environment, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues. He also explains how the EPA may address EJ through additional facility inspections, “innovative relief” focused on enforcement remedies in local communities, enhanced community communication, and increased federal oversight including enforcement. Kurt Kissling’s advice to automotive suppliers on these upcoming EPA initiatives: “Understand what's coming down the road, especially in terms of regulatory developments, because if you aren't at the table discussing the issue, you may appear on the menu.” More info: www.wnj.com and OESA.org
