Katelyn Carey has been working in emergency and critical care nursing for twenty years. Her exposure to patients and families in crisis led her to study, then begin teaching about how cognitive science affects healthcare and recovery. Katelyn is an award-winning speaker, an instructor, and an author. In her book, Beauty After Breast Cancer, Katelyn dove into the idea of presenting medical information in a way that was reassuring, and even uplifting. Katelyn will talk about how to feel hopeful again after self confidence has been shaken by a body-altering event like breast cancer surgery.
