Merriam Websters Dictionary defines a Publicist as the following: "the business of inducing the public to have understanding for and goodwill towards a person, firm or institution. The Synonyms of this word further accentuate its functionality . . . Agent, Press Agent, Publicizer, PR Person, Advance Agent, Advance Man, Press Officer, Public Relations Consultant. Now if I am looking at this profession as a full time employee, I am looking at it incorrectly but if i am looking at this as an outside "Influencer", then this makes all the sense in the world. Until I entered the MEDIA world, this type of support person was nonsensical to me because my marketing and communications of my small business could be better served in hard copy print, social media and other persuasions. Now I am finding that this person is indispensable and invaluable and that is WHY I am on a search right now to find the person who will complement the show and help us to take it to the levels that we have envisioned.
