BASEBALL’S TREADMILL: Managing the Great, the Good and the Ugly
May 22, 2007
Hosted by Ida R. Muorie
Ida and her special guests will examine the great, good and ugliness of baseball today and yesterday. Ida welcomes “Heath Cliff”, Cliff Johnson, and the real deal in baseball history. Cliff is a 15-year veteran (1972-1985) that posted a .258 batting average with 196 home runs and 669 RBI in 1369 games played. Johnson holds the ML record for pinch home runs with 20. Johnson was a member of the 1977 and 1978 Yankees World Series championship teams. Cliff Johnson, the usually private individual strikes out to talk about MLB Barry Bonds/David Ortiz//Josh Hancock dilemma, the emerging senior league (player’s over 36), Blacks and Women in Baseball, Jackie Robinson Legacy and Commissioner Selig leadership contributions. We will ask Cliff what he thinks the Commissioner will do when Barry Bonds breaks Hank Aaron’s homerun record?
