Jordan has been interested in celebrities since high school. An autograph hound, he regularly wrote to various celebrities to get a signature. “I started Contact Any Celebrity in 1990 mostly for fans who just wanted an autograph,” says McAuley. Over time, he learned how to find celebrity addresses and how to word his letters so that the celebrity would respond. That's when he went into business. McAuley says many well-known entertainment companies including movie studios, talent agencies, and publicity firms use his database. Every year he pulls the database and creates The Celebrity Black Book for those who prefer to use a hard copy resource instead of the online database.
