Episode Description

He's a retired forensic psychologist who has examined thousands of defendants in criminal cases and testified as an expert witness hundreds of times…but only after getting in trouble for most of his youth and then spending four years in prison. He left jail with a G.E.D., a $20 bill, and a vow never to go back. And, he never has. This week, Crime Prevention Specialist Susan Bartelstone interviews Dr. Paul Fauteck, the author of Going Straight: An Ex-Convict /Psychologist Tells Why and How. Now retired and in his 70's, he spends his time lecturing to offender groups about the lessons he learned, writing about how to improve the criminal justice system, and trying to give back to society some at least some of what he took. Also, on this show, Susan debunks another misleading Webmail that purports to offer important crime prevention information to women.
