February 7, 2010 marks a 44 year old history of 32 teams battling it out on the gridiron to determine the #1 team in the league. In 1985, no one would have thought that the Chicago Bears would be the reigning champions of that season. After the 1982 strike, the death of their owner George Halas in 1983, and the rumored leaving of their beloved Defensive coordinator Buddy Ryan, the odds just did not seem in favor of The Bears. Known to most of the world as misfits, rock and rollers, and unreasonably cocky The Bears were determined to prove that they could be all of that and be the next winners of the Super Bowl. Fast forward 25 years later and the same Cinderella story presents itself again. This past Sunday 72,000 fans packed the Superdome, and , another 57.9 million viewers (Nielsen) tuned in to watch the New Orleans Saints go up against the mighty Brett Farve and his Vikings. The same location in which 5 years ago was packed with the displaced citizens of Hurricane Katrina stricken New Orleans. Since the decimation of its city in 2005 the Saints have vowed to go and win a Super Bowl on behalf of New Orleans, just like The Bears did in ’85. While Chicago didn’t suffer a national distaster as The Saints, it chose to fight for its city and its fans, and bring home the Super Bowl Title. As The Saints now prepare to go up against Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts, relive one of the greatest seasons in football history with the members of The ‘85 Bears.

Dave Duerson passed away February 17, 2011. His archives will remain on the VoiceAmerica Sports Channel.
Dave Duerson is CEO of DD Favor, a management consulting firm specializing in implementing new business and turnaround strategies for manufacturing operations. Prior to DD Favor, he was CEO of Duerson Foods, a meat production facility located in Wisconsin.
His first business venture was Fair Oaks Farms, which provided breakfast sausages to 1/3 of McDonald’s franchisees worldwide. 2002 revenues exceeded $63.5M. Duerson Foods went from a startup to $22.5M in 6 years.
David spent 11 seasons in The NFL, 7 with the Chicago Bears, winning Super Bowl XX. 1 in New York with the Giants, winning Super Bowl XXV, and 3 with the Phoenix Cardinals. He was voted All-Pro 4 times, 1986-1989 & named to 5 consecutive Pro Bowls; voted the 1987 NFL Man of the Year; and awarded the 1988 NFLPA Humanitarian of the Year. He is in the Indiana and Chicago Sports Hall of Fames, and has been nominated for inclusion into the NFL Hall of Fame.
David is the recipient of numerous distinguished honors. He received The Indiana Sagamore of the Wabash, and The Kentucky Colonel, the highest civilian honor in both states. He currently serves on the NFL Player Benefits Board of Trustees.
David is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a BA in economics, and was a two-time Football All-American, Captain, MVP and Man of the Year. He also graduated Hamburger University of the McDonald's Corporation, and the Harvard Business School Owner/President Management Program (OPM).
