Episode Description
Such a simple idea: flight attendants who are trained to recognize the signs of the horrific crime of human trafficking, on both international and domestic flights, and trained to report it. This came about through the work of dedicated flight attendant Sandra Fiorini, who flies for American Airlines, who hooked up with Deborah Sigmund, founder and Executive Director of Innocents at Risk, an organization whose purpose is to raise awareness about and promote ways to stop human trafficking. Crime Prevention Specialist Susan Bartelstone talks with them tonight and you're going to be amazed by this story. Our True Crime Report features writer Pete Kotz, editor of the True Crime Report blogsite. We're talking about the case of Elizabeth Mandala, a high school student (and part-time stripper) who wanted to earn some extra income by smuggling illegals in the country…and ended up dead. Like who woulda thought this occupation might be dangerous! Crime Stoppers returns next week.
