“Debunking Earmark Myths - World Bank and Anti-Corruption - Rethinking Higher Education - North Korea”
January 6, 2011
Hosted by Squire Patton Boggs
Happy New Year from the Capital Thinking Radio Show! This week, host Kevin O’Neill will chat with Amy Budner and Pamela Welsh as they will help debunk some common earmark myths. Amy and Pamela will also discuss their outlooks for the 112th Congress and the earmark process. Next, Kevin will be joined by John Oberdorfer to learn about the World Bank's role on anti-corruption and the procedures used by lenders. John was a panelist at the recent World Bank conference on anti-corruption and sanction programs in Washington, D.C., in December, 2010. Then, switching our focus to education, President Harris N. Miller of the Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities will discuss the unique contributions of private sector colleges and universities ("PSCUs") to the higher education mix, including the importance of the outcome focused nature of the PSCUs, and questions about the best method to provide funding to make this wider access available.
