SportsTalk at the PositivePub creates an empowering message for sports fans and non-sports fans alike. We examine sports from a positive, historical, and philosophical perspective. It’s a show that will be caller and interview driven. There will be no negative rants or personal attacks. It provides an outlet for you to express your passion, opinions, and solutions through constructive dialogue. We want to create a healthy conversation through the means of internet radio, social networking, and other technological aspects of an ever changing medium. The show will also provide a news making component. This will not be a show that is slanted or is misrepresented. This program will also promote the positive values of athletes through their foundations and faith based community initiatives.

Gil Tyree

Emmy-award winning TV sportscaster Gil Tyree’s experience includes the NCAA Final Four, Super Bowl XXX, Olympic Features, NASCAR, NBA, MLB, NFL, SEC, NHL, and the Bowl Championship Series. Currently Gil hosts the Georgia Public Broadcasting’s Sports Central show that provides in-depth coverage of Georgia high school football. Gil is also the host for the Texas Pete Hot Sauce Flavor of Football tour, which visits college campuses across the country. Gil has done extensive radio work including contributing to ESPN Radio’s Game Night show.

His community involvement included forming a 100-person plus bike team that raised more than $200,000 for the National MS Society, and founding member of the Arizona Association of Black Journalists. Gil also hosts the 100% Wrong Clubs annual sports banquet in Atlanta, celebrating black college sports.

Gil has participated in hundreds of fundraising dinners and events for organizations such as Upward Bound, the Special Olympics, the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University, and mentoring programs at the University of Arizona, University of Georgia, and the Mesa, Arizona-based Friends of the Library. He has hosted telethons for the United Negro College Fund and has helped in fundraising events for the Urban League, the Sullivan Foundations Haitian earthquake relief drive, and the United Blood Services. He also served as the emcee for the Grand Canyon State Games and Special Olympics.
