Debt, Deficits, and the Demise of the American Economy
August 1, 2011
Hosted by Jordan Goodman
Today we speak with Peter Tanous, President of Lepercq Lynx Advisory of Washington, D.C., about the book: Debts, Deficits, and The Demise of The American Economy, which he co-authored with CNBC Journalist Jeff Cox. The US is heading toward an unavoidable financial catastrophe that will paralyze the markets and the overall economy. Some call this impending economic catastrophe a double-dip recession, others a financial Armageddon. We will discuss some solutions to a stock market decline of major proportion, interest rates spiking as the Fed withdraws from the bond market, rampant inflation as the U.S. prints money to pay debts, and the soaring commodities markets. Peter will suggest the resources we need to counter the effects of higher inflation. He will go through the unraveling of the collapse, starting with sovereign debt defaults in Europe, advise us on alternate investment strategies, and guide us in understanding investment risks so that we will be prepared.
