This week on Autism Spectrum Radio we are mixing it up a bit. We are extremely excited to welcome a special guest host to the show, Rob Haupt. Rob serves as Autism Spectrum Therapies VP of Business Development, and has been presenting workshops to the public on the recent changes to the autism insurance mandate that will take effect in California on July 1st. In this episode we will focus on the many ways this mandate will affect insurance coverage for autism spectrum disorders, and how families can prepare for these changes. Our guest this week, Kristin Jacobson, has an extensive background in advocating for equal insurance coverage for individuals with autism spectrum disorders. Kristin is the President of “Autism Deserves Equal Coverage” an autism insurance advocacy group based in Southern California, and has a wealth of knowledge to add to this conversation. Rob Haupt
Rob Haupt is a passionate professional in the field of autism. His knowledge of autism services, treatment options and insurance coverage has made him a popular guest speaker to advocate groups. He also shares tips for parents through his weekly video blog.
Rob is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over 12 years of experience treating individuals with Development Disabilities. He currently serves as Vice President of Business Development at Autism Spectrum Therapies (AST), an agency that provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Occupational Therapy and Speech to individuals with Autism. In his role with AST, Rob has collaborated with parents, teachers, and schools to support better understanding of autism health insurance mandates and how to effectively use insurance coverage.
