Episode Description

With Europe under a cloud, China's economy slowing and conflict in the Middle East, global investors are embracing the US real estate market. What do they know that the US investor doesn’t? How far has the market recovered since 2008? What’s the outlook for 2013? How do you find income-producing properties with attractive risk-adjusted returns? What are the hot sectors? Which metro areas offer the greatest value? Are there special caveats for foreign investors? How about political risk? How will the election outcomes impact the market? What if Congress sends the US over the “fiscal cliff”? What about the impact of potential interest rate changes? Should investors be concerned about fracking? My guest Austin Khan, Chief Investment Officer for Ethika Securities, works closely with Latin American investors and has completed over $2B in RE transactions. An expert in commercial real estate, he’ll tell us how to find off-the-radar opportunities, while minimizing risk.
