Global Economic Outlook: Strategies for an Uncertain Road Ahead
September 13, 2012
Hosted by Té Revesz
Macro uncertainties dominate the Q4 global business and investment outlook. Will 2013 be better? This week’s guest Paul Christopher is the chief international strategist for Wells Fargo Advisors. He’ll share his forecasts for the world’s leading economies, currencies and commodities—and their potential impact. Europe’s policymakers have taken significant steps to bolster confidence, but its debt crisis is complex. Will the Euro survive? Will the region emerge from recession? China’s economy is stabilizing. Can we expect a return to historical growth rates or is inflation vigilance here to stay? Will China ease up on its quest for commodities? The U.S. recovery has been by political conflict, the looming fiscal "cliff" (sharp spending cuts plus a tax hike). Will 2013 see stronger growth? Recent events in Syria increase the questions about whether (and when) a new regional conflict. How should we factor all of these uncertainties into our business and investment planning for Q4 and 2013?
