Episode Description

It's that time of year when the Holiday Season gets under way. I'm not talking about Christmas! I'm talking about Holidays! Think about it, with the launch of Halloween, we average a Holiday a month for nearly six months! That means parties, hostess gifts, cocktails, beer, and maybe even some difficult presents to buy. This week we'll delve into Halloween! Bloody Marys, pumpkin beer, and 'Halloween' wine that is 'drinkable'. We'll begin Party Planning 101 with Tips & Tricks from Kimber. I'll give you some of my behind the scene advice on glassware, flavors, food pairings & set up. Ways to 'glam' up without breaking the bank, and tricks for an easier clean up! This is my favorite time of the year, and from many, I hear the groaning and dread, the fear of pairing wine with Turkey or Ham, the terror of the craft cocktail, the horror of baking a cake! Over the next months, we'll cover all these topics & more! If you have a question for us, email it to AroundtheWorldinaGlass@hotmail.com

Archives Available on VoiceAmerica Variety Channel

Around the World in a Glass explores the wine and alcohol beverage regions of the world. We focus on a region, grape or style, and answer questions such as what makes it so special, where it is, what style of wine or beverage produced, and how to understand the labels. Our winery and regional guests talk about their wines and regions, we discuss specific wines from that region, and take part in tasting wines from there. In addition, we'll answer your questions, discuss stemware, wine and food pairings, places to eat, and tours or features. Some of the regions we'll explore are Champagne, Napa Valley, Sonoma County, Burgundy, Loire, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Rhone, and many more. We’ll also feature other beverages besides wine, including Single Malt Scotch, Well Aged Rum, Gin, Tequila, Mescal, Cognac, Vodka and more regional and style explorations.
