Raised in a small town in upstate New York called Penn Yan, Tony Collins lettered in football, basketball, and track, was first team All-State for three years while attending Penn Yan Academy and was recently inducted into his alma mater’s Hall of Fame.

Tony spent his college years breaking records at East Carolina University and was inducted into the ECU Hall of Fame in 2011. Selected in the second round of the NFL Draft in 1981, Tony spent a combined eight seasons with the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins. His successful football career was highlighted by a Pro Bowl selection in 1983, a single-game rushing record of 212 yards, and a trip to the biggest stage imaginable for a football player – Super Bowl XX.

Although he didn’t initially complete his undergraduate degree prior to joining the NFL, Tony realized the value of an education and returned to school, receiving his Bachelor’s in Communications degree in 2011. Now, Tony travels the country talking to high school kids about the college recruiting process. He is also the founder of the Tony Collins Foundation which, through its fundraising, benefits the children of Penn Yan, NY.

Tony is a firm believer in the power of positive thinking and spreads that message daily to his followers on Facebook. Join him on his weekly VoiceAmerica radio broadcast Sports Talk with Touchdown Tony Collins.
