Episode Description

We're going Around the World of Whiskey today. And yes I mean Whiskey, not Whisky. What's the difference? Today, you'll find out. Sometimes people can get a little obsessive regarding that 'e'. We'll cover Bourbon, Rye, Irish, Tennessee, and Canadian Whiskeys. We'll discuss the differences between Bourbon & Whiskey. Scotch & Whiskey, and Kentucky vs. Tennessee. When to serve it, how to serve it, some of my faves, and even some 'bang for your buck' whiskeys. We'll discuss a cocktail or two, whether or not to add water, and of course, I'll tell you the way to order it when you're out – so you'll sound like a pro! We'll even cover the use of wheat, barley, rye, and corn, and if that's not enough, we'll brush the edges of Scotch, a terrifying & expensive, however quite amazing beverage! If there's a question you have for us, email it to AroundtheWorldinaGlass@hotmail.com

Archives Available on VoiceAmerica Variety Channel

Around the World in a Glass explores the wine and alcohol beverage regions of the world. We focus on a region, grape or style, and answer questions such as what makes it so special, where it is, what style of wine or beverage produced, and how to understand the labels. Our winery and regional guests talk about their wines and regions, we discuss specific wines from that region, and take part in tasting wines from there. In addition, we'll answer your questions, discuss stemware, wine and food pairings, places to eat, and tours or features. Some of the regions we'll explore are Champagne, Napa Valley, Sonoma County, Burgundy, Loire, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Rhone, and many more. We’ll also feature other beverages besides wine, including Single Malt Scotch, Well Aged Rum, Gin, Tequila, Mescal, Cognac, Vodka and more regional and style explorations.
