Universal Accreditation Act 2012 – Anne Hughes
February 2, 2013
Hosted by Kelly Ellison
On January 14, 2013, President Obama signed The Inter-country Adoption Universal Accreditation Act (UAA) of 2012. The UAA has broad implications for all U.S. adoption service providers ( adoption agencies and professionals) active in inter-country adoption. It affects currently accredited or approved service providers and those with programs only in non-Hague Adoption Convention countries of origin, where federal accreditation or approval was not previously required. Join us as we have Anne Hughes, CEO and Founder of Beacon House Adoption guide us through what this new bill means for adoption agencies and professionals and adoptive parents. If you are currently adopting there could be some implications for you and if you are considering adoption, this will be an important piece of information as you choose your agency.

Your Adoption Coach is designed to reach prospective and current adoptive families, couple, and singles with the resources they need to successfully bring their family together. We will examine international and domestic adoption, resources, costs, stories, highlight innovative agencies and bring the touching stories of families struggling and succeeding to the forefront. There is no greater community builder than Adoption! When we educate and encourage others to become involved, more people are inspired to adopt or be a part of a community of adoption. Our show aims to educate and inspire others to get involved in building a family be it on their own or helping someone close to them bring their family home together forever.
