“Climate Change, Alternative Energy Development and Sustainability”
February 21, 2013
Hosted by Squire Patton Boggs
President Obama has made climate change and alternative energy development both priorities in his 2nd term, and Ohio University is leading cutting-edge research and contributing to the policy-making process. Join us on this week's Capital Thinking with host Kevin O'Neill to first discuss water, climate and energy with Scott Miller, Director of Ohio University's Consortium for Energy, Economics, and the Environment. Next, Jason Trembly, an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering will detail his research on identifying methods to clean "fracking" wastewater on site. And, Loehr Professor of Mechanical Engineering Dave Bayless will share his insights on using algae for biofuels production. Lastly, Josh Greene will join us to discuss an upcoming dialogue series hosted by Patton Boggs focused on the important issue of sustainability. The first event in the series will take place on Thursday, February 28 and the public is welcome to RSVP here.
