Episode Description

Shark Tank is a dangerous and tricky place for personal brands. A few minutes in, seemingly unsinkable personal brands are tattered to shreds. Shark Tank is a reality show on ABC (airs on Friday nights, check yor local listings). The series features entrepreneurs “pitching” their business idea or product to a panel of super-successful investors, called "Sharks" (Robert Herjavec, Kevin O'Leary, Barbara Corcoran, Daymond John, Mark Cuban, Lori Greiner). The challenge is for the “pitchers” to maintain or elevate their personal brand (and dignity) by delivering a brief, engaging, authentic pitch of their product, AND survive the rigorous Q&A session with the Sharks afterward. The stakes are high and the pressure is intense; some succeed in the tank, many don’t. Join host Rasheryl McCreary on this episode of The Leader and The Muse as she identifies 7 personal branding lessons that can help you survive in your own version of shark tank.
