Melissa Brown
Melissa Brown is a therapist, life coach, minister, author, and empowerment speaker who is committed to helping individuals make the most of their lives. She is the founder of Life Purpose Wellness Center, and deeply passionate about helping others transform their personal disappointments into something meaningful and valuable on the pathway of life. She uniquely combines clinical concepts with spiritual principals to bring practical advice and guidance for complicated and multi-layered situations.
Melissa is a licensed clinical social worker who is a graduate of Morgan State University and The Ohio State University. She is also a graduate of Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC and an ordained minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AMEC). She brings a diverse ministry experience, having ministered to several faith groups from a variety of cultures and ethnic backgrounds. Her experience as a child in a military family, and as an Army wife has given her great respect for the beauty of each person’s uniqueness, as well as the common humanity we all share as global citizens.
Melissa is a regular presenter in the Washington, DC area. She writes a weekly blog that helps motivate individuals to stay focused on their life’s calling and make the most of every moment. Her first book “30 Days of Purpose” was self-published in 2011. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the National Association of Black Social Workers.
