The higher education sector is becoming radically different in the digital age. A college degree used to be a passport to success and job security. Now, the college degree is becoming a commodity. There are both traditional universities and for-profit universities everywhere and ready to meet your needs. Universities are doing market research and are catering to a different market segments (non-traditional, traditional and etc). Higher education is all around us. Access to higher education and knowledge are no longer just for the chosen few. Has the college degree become a commodity? Is an MBA worth it? Is a Ph.D. worth it? He conducted research on minority contract awards trends with the City of San Antonio Government's Economic Development Department. His published books are “Risk Factors and Business Models: Understanding the Five Forces of Entrepreneurial Risk,” and “Entrepreneurship and Risk: The Five Forces of Entrepreneurial Risk: Forces That Cause Business Failure and Discontinuance,” and academic journals including Academy of Business Research Journal, Southern Business and Economic Journal, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Management Research, and others.
