Episode Description

Human beings are social creatures, which naturally draw them to each other; yet many people are estranged from their loved ones. Feeling misunderstood, rejected, or cast out of your family circle or group of close friends can weaken your sense of self. Estrangement often hurts everyone involved, sometimes in unseen ways and on multiple levels Therapists say that because family relationships happened in close proximity, and family members are often very different from one another, estrangement is almost inevitable. No one has all the answers, no one knows for sure what will resolve someone else's conflict, or if in fact resolution is the best choice. Reconciliation is a process, sometimes a long and arduous process. At times the preferred approach may be to first reconcile within yourself and remain open to the possibility that over time your loved one may have a change of heart and want to reunite. Tune in this week as we explore the ins and outs of estrangement and reconciliation.
