A Place I Didn’t Belong, Hope for Adoptive Moms
September 21, 2013
Hosted by Kelly Ellison
Paula Freeman is the founder and executive director of Hope’s Promise, a Colorado-based adoption and orphan-care ministry and author of the book, A Place I Didn’t Belong, Hope for Adoptive Moms. This book validates the sometimes devastating experiences of adoptive parenthood while offering hope, practical coping strategies, and spiritual renewal for the journey ahead. With recent news reports bringing to light ‘online rehoming’ we felt it was important to provide resources and hope for parents who might be struggling. Paula shares with us her personal journey of depression and how she not only navigated the path and provided an inspirational, spiritual approach to help adoptive Moms and families heal. Paula served for nearly ten years as a national trainer with the Infant Adoption Training Initiative, and is a founding member of the National Christian Adoption Fellowship. She is a member of the Advanced Writer and Speaker’s Association.
Your Adoption Coach
Archives Available on VoiceAmerica Variety Channel
Your Adoption Coach is designed to reach prospective and current adoptive families, couple, and singles with the resources they need to successfully bring their family together. We will examine international and domestic adoption, resources, costs, stories, highlight innovative agencies and bring the touching stories of families struggling and succeeding to the forefront. There is no greater community builder than Adoption! When we educate and encourage others to become involved, more people are inspired to adopt or be a part of a community of adoption. Our show aims to educate and inspire others to get involved in building a family be it on their own or helping someone close to them bring their family home together forever.
