Medical insurance premiums are tied to the health of your employee population, but do you know your organizational health risks? Old school was to work with your broker to get a health plan that meets the needs of the company and pay the price required. Welcome to the new school. Insurance carriers and brokers are increasingly working with employers to improve the health of their staffs and lower their premiums. Healthier employees mean lower premium costs, as well as, lower absenteeism and higher productivity. It’s a win-win-win.Joining me this week is John Kahle, senior vice president and chief wellness officer at Intercare Insurance Solutions. John has 30 plus years of experience in the insurance industry, with an emphasis on employee benefits and, more specifically, wellness. Intercare has one of the best wellness consulting teams in the country. Listen in as John shares how your broker can help you create an effective, inclusive wellness program for your employees.

We talk to employers about best practices and hear from experts on healthcare reform and legal issues. We cover absenteeism, productivity, incentives, disease management, fitness, stress, ergonomic design and more.
The health of our nation is no longer about personal choices. Obesity and diseases affect us all. They also affect the bottom line of all businesses, large and small. Creating a culture of health in the workplace is no longer optional, it is essential to a healthy balance sheet. Health programming need not be expensive. Failure to actively participate is costly.
My goals are to inform, enlighten and sometimes entertain you. Let’s make a difference in our world today!
