With 760,000 copies of Unbroken in print, and the movie optioned by Universal Pictures, hear the first and only interview featuring both the author, Laura Hillenbrand (also the author of NYT bestseller Seabiscuit) and the subject, Louis Zamperini together on the next episode of Real Recognition Radio. Louis was an Olympic athlete at the Games in Berlin when Hitler was in power. World War II—Louie was a U.S. Air Corps bombardier on a routine search mission over the Pacific when his plane crashed into the ocean. After surviving in a life raft, drifting 2,000 miles for 47 days into Japanese controlled waters, he faced his rescuers who were also his torturers, and suffered the remainder of the war in a series of prison camps. Louie endured incredible hardships almost too unbearable to believe. Today at 94 years of age, Louie is still spry, and full of life.
