How to Be Safe to Love Again
December 5, 2013
Hosted by Tresté Loving
Clients are increasingly coming to me to conquer what is fast becoming one of the great fears of our time – the fear of love or being in a committed relationship. In the love and relationships world, one can find many dating or relationship coaches. You can also find people who focus on couple communication, gender differences, sexuality, or other skill sets for couples. Yet it is what is underneath all of that which determines the success of a relationship – the ability to feel safe in a relationship. It does not matter how well coached you are in all of these very important areas if you are not safe with love in the first place. If there is not safety, our brains will naturally sabotage any coaching we receive in order to make us feel safe again. The only way that relationship coaching really works is if we first reset the safety settings in our brain. Once we do that, love flows easily. We naturally attract our soul mate rather than Mr. or Ms. Wrong. Couples become stronger. The big challenge for people in our day is to find a way to be safe with love.
