Episode Description

Today’s buzz: Hindsight. How many times have you failed in business or a career? Rather than be measured solely on your successes, it could be so much more productive to be graded by the number of times you fell down, dusted yourself off, and got back up to try again, another way, another day. Smart entrepreneurs recognize the benefits of such retrospective thinking through the 20/20 rearview mirror of experience. And they have a wealth of knowledge to share. Vish Canaran, Liquid Analytics: “’To strive, to seek, to find and not to yield’ is the last line of Ulysses by Alfred Lord Tenneyson. They made me memorize this in cold Canada in grade school.” Ralph Treitz, Trufa: “And yet it moves.” (Galileo Galilei, 1564 – 1642) Andy Yen, SAP: “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.” (Charles Darwin) Join us for more insights on Startup’s Rearview Mirror: If I could do it all over again.
