Billy Best was a teenage runaway at age 16. He knew he had to avoid the forced chemotherapy that he was being given for his Hodgkins’ lymphoma, and figured he would rather die of the disease on his own than be tortured to death by medical doctors. The national press soon joined the search for the “runaway cancer victim”, and his parents convinced him to come back home, on the condition that he would not be forced to undergo more chemo. His own research and the outpouring of help from thousands of well-wishers helped him to overcome his cancer and remain healthy. Now, 20 years later, he shares his inspiring story with our listeners.

Howard Straus
Mr. Howard Straus, son of Charlotte Gerson and grandson of Dr. Max Gerson, graduated from MIT with a degree in physics. He was a US naval officer during the Viet Nam war and worked for many years as a computer systems analyst. Howard was Editor-in-Chief of the Gerson Healing Newsletter for ten years and authored an award-winning biography of Dr. Gerson called Dr. Max Gerson: Healing the Hopeless, published in 2002.
Howard was the founding Director of the Gerson Healing Center in Sedona, Arizona, that provided the Gerson Therapy directly to visitors from all over the world. Howard also served on the Board of the Gerson Institute for fifteen years and initiated their Worldwide Web presence during the earliest days of the Internet.
Mr. Straus founded Gerson Health Media that publishes the guidebooks for implementing Gerson Therapy and manages the rapidly expanding library of books and booklets being released around the world. Howard appears on radio, television and Internet interviews, and regularly speaks throughout the world.
